A NEW LANGUAGE
Teaching very young children from an early age foreign languages has many advantages.
One of these advantages is that children are more creative and develop better social skills better.
But you should always consider that when you are teaching a child something new you can never make children do something they do not want to.
Therefore, the principle of teaching a new language is that the child must become familiar with it gradually. The teacher must begin by choosing an activity that the child likes or is interested in.
In my opinion, one of the most used strategies teach a second language is through songs, singing is an essential tool for learning and is an element of fun for students. Through the songs we can meet the needs and interests of children too.
A part from using songs to learn a new language, we can also do other activities such as repeating some words related to objects or pictures to stimulate the child to repeat them…
Once the children on have learned some new pieces of language we need create appropriate situation so that the children practise and thus encourage them to speak it. For example at lunchtime talk a bit in the second language, explaining what you are eating… so that the children are familiar with the vocabulary.
In my opinion, songs are a good way to teach a new language, since children feel they are playing white they are learning too fun while you learn.
